Amol Navathe, MD, PhD

    Biography

    Amol Navathe, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Medicine, Health Policy, and Healthcare Management and Economics at the Perelman School of Medicine and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He serves as Vice Chairman of the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC), advising Congress on Medicare policy, and co-founded Embedded Healthcare (now Clarify Health), a healthcare technology company.

    A leading scholar on value-based care, behavioral economics, and equitable risk adjustment, Dr Navathe completed medical training at the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard, earning his PhD from Wharton. He has served as Medical Officer for the $1B federal comparative effectiveness research program (now PCORI) and co-founded Health Care: The Journal of Delivery Science and Innovation. His work has been featured in leading outlets such as the New York Times, Science, The New England Journal of Medicine, and JAMA. Dr Navathe bridges academics, government, and the private sector to advance healthcare affordability and quality.
