Dr Sarah Louise Barber

Director, WHO Centre for Health Development, Kobe Japan

Dr Sarah Louise Barber is a health economist and policy specialist. She holds a doctorate and post-doctorate qualifications from the University of California, Berkeley, USA, focusing on economic evaluation. Before becoming Director of the Centre, she worked on strategic policy issues with the World Health Organization (WHO) in the Western Pacific, Southeast Asian, and African regions.

Tadashi Funahashi, MD

Chief Innovation Officer, Kaiser Permanente, Southern California

Tad Funahashi, MD is the Chief Innovation Officer for Kaiser Permanente Southern California. In this role, he leads a team of physicians, consultants, designers, data scientists, and engineers who work together with teams and leaders across Kaiser Permanente to envision and build the healthcare delivery system of the future at the Kaiser Permanente Innovations Studio.

Niek Klazinga, MD, PhD

Emeritus professor of Social Medicine, Amsterdam UMC

Dr Klazinga has been a professor of Social Medicine at the University Medical Center/University of Amsterdam since 1999 and became an active emeritus in 2024. From 2006 to 2022, he was the strategic lead of the Health Care Quality and Outcomes program at the OECD in Paris, where he currently still functions in an advisory capacity.

Amol Navathe, MD, PhD

Professor, University of Pennsylvania

Amol Navathe, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Medicine, Health Policy, and Healthcare Management and Economics at the Perelman School of Medicine and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He serves as Vice Chairman of the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC), advising Congress on Medicare policy, and co-founded Embedded Healthcare (now Clarify Health), a healthcare technology company.

Dr Irene Papanicolas

Director, Center for Health System Sustainability, Brown University School of Public Health

Dr Irene Papanicolas is Professor of Health Services, Policy, and Practice at Brown University’s School of Public Health and the founding Director of the Center for Health System Sustainability (CHeSS). Her research centers on measuring and comparing health system performance.
